Moments later, Nolan capitalized and scored a bonus-clinching win over the Brazilian veteran.\n\nMany have spoken out against Miragliotta’s call as it directly led to the outcome of a UFC main event. Cormier, who was on color commentary duty for the fight, has taken to his YouTube channel to call for Miragliotta to be punished for his decision-making (via MMAJunkie.com).\n\n*“Dan Miragliotta needs a reset,” Cormier said. “There’s a show this weekend at the Apex; Dan Miragliotta should not be there. There is a show in New York City (UFC 334) where the heavyweight title will be on the line; Dan Miragliotta should not be there. …*\n\n*“It is so clear that the mistake led to the change in the outcome that you have to have a penalty. Everybody else is held accountable. We’re all held accountable for our actions. Nobody should be above that, officials included. This is not me just sh*tting on Dan Miragliotta. But you’ve got to be held accountable for your actions when they’re bad.”*\n\nAthletic commissions haven’t exactly been known to take action whenever there are referee blunders unless the grievances pile up to the point of no return. Herb Dean has perhaps been the most scrutinized combat sports official as of late, but there’s been no sign of him facing any meaningful consequences.
