Nolan scored an exciting finish over the Brazilian veteran to earn a “Performance of the Night” bonus, but the circumstances prior to the fight-ending sequence drew controversy through no fault of the winner. Moicano had Nolan’s back and was working for a rear-naked choke, but referee Dan Miragliotta stood the two fighters up.\n\nMiragliotta’s call has led to outcry from fans and fighters, although some spectators have noted they don’t hate the decision because it led to a thrilling finish. Rogan does not agree with those who think Miragliotta made the right call. When discussing the controversy with his brother, Jason, on their YouTube channel, UFC play-by-play ace Jon Anik noted that Rogan sent a fiery text criticizing the officiating (via Bloody Elbow).\n\n*“If you don’t want to take it from Boston [Jason] Anik, right? Take it from Joe Rogan, who just wait until he cracks a mic on the Joe Rogan Experience and talks about this,” Anik said. “He wrote in our text with ‘DC’ [Daniel Cormier], ‘It’s not a sport if refs can do that.’ I’m not sure much else needs to be said.”*\n\nMoicano initially took the high road in a video statement, saying that he’s moving forward. He later blasted Miragliotta, using an expletive over the controversy. Ultimately, the record books will say that Nolan scored the win over Moicano at UFC Vegas 123, but whether or not Miragliotta’s call will lead to change going forward remains to be seen.\n\n**Do you agree with Joe Rogan’s stance on what transpired on the UFC Vegas 123 headliner, or do you not have a problem with Dan Miragliotta’s call?
